House Approves Resolution Reaffirming Israel’s Right to Exist

Representative who introduced the resolution says no one should “delegitimize the very existence of the Jewish state.“

The House of Representatives passed a resolution on Thursday, offered by Representative Mike Lawler of New York, “Reaffirming the State of Israel’s right to exist.” The resolution specifically “(1) recognizes that denying Israel’s right to exist is a form of antisemitism; (2) rejects calls for Israel’s destruction; and (3) condemns the Hamas-led attack on Israel.”

Representative Lawler said from the House floor, “Everyone has the right to say what they want about a foreign government, to say what they want about war. But they don’t have the right to delegitimize the very existence of the Jewish state to justify terror.”

Voting no on the resolution was Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky. Representative Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, the only Palestinian-American serving in Congress, voted present. Twenty-one other members did not vote.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Representative Lawler as he seeks to support Israel’s right to exist.
  • For U.S. governing officials as they continue to affirm Israel’s right to defend itself against terrorists.
  • For Israeli leaders and people as they take action against Hamas and other terror groups.
  • For the peace of Jerusalem as well as the safety of the hostages in Gaza and for their quick release.
